Handprint

The hand-print below the chains for some reason affects one of us.  Possibly the symbolism???  Hope?  Being chained by the past and reaching out?  Not being able to reach out?  Or maybe it’s just a photo…

Oh wow – this is powerful. Not just you, and not just a photo – it speaks to me of freedom – people standing against injustice and captivity. Having an identity and humanity despite oppression …

This is really great! I imagine that hand reaching up and grabbing the chain and breaking it.

    When did you take this?

This one was taken yesterday as part of our photo taking to calm down after writing the post about the concept of being missed as a child. It was the very last photo taken and was driven by someone strong within the system. There was a very large and loud family who had just arrived at the gardens, so we were all wanting to sneak away and hide. We spotted this handprint and took a quick photo from an angle, but then there was a switch as I have an impression of a very strong one coming forward and saying we need to take this photo. I have a feeling it was One, as the shot is from a better angle, but there was still care taken in not upsetting us too much by hanging around to sweep away the stones that you see – something that we would’ve done if we’d been alone.

It’s interesting in that we took about 200 photos yesterday, but our dissociation really showed. Only about 6 of the photos were sort of OK. I think part of the reason was that we went to a park where we know they have a large aviary, but it had been moved and upgraded. This move meant that the playground fort was now extremely visible – these forts are a huge trigger for us. We had to stay and act normally as someone from work spotted us and started talking, so we couldn’t run away.

      Take care

The centre of the palm resembles a heart shape. This picture speaks silent words
