A new therapist!!!

Today we had the second appointment with the new therapist – it went ok.  She knows about DID!  She even has other clients who are DID!  She was gentle with her questioning – she asked M to try and notice what was happening internally as we were going through the session.  She was really aware of organising the seating in the room so we were comfortable.  She has lots of nice looking stuffed toys – a big plus for some of us :)

The only drawbacks so far is that the building she has her office is a converted old house that sort of reminds us of the Grandfathers house (not a bad thing, just a bit unsettling); the neighbourhood it’s in is a bit rough which is a little triggery for some of us; and well she’s someone new and we don’t know if we can really trust her.  As you can see, these are not really huge issues.  We’ll get used to the office and work on building a relationship with her.

So YAY, we seem to have found a new therapist who isn’t freaked or fascinated by the dissociation :)

OMG this is fantastic! I found my very own DID-T this year and the difference is amazing. I have everything crossed for you CG. I really hope it works out.

Thank you, thank you BTC :)

She was one of the therapists recommended to us in a rather round about sort of way. Of the six therapists we contacted, she was the only one taking on new ACC clients.

Those of us who are a bit less “business like” consider it fate or something… M, is a bit suspicious that she’s a bit “therapisty” for us. But we think she’s just being cautious.

      Take care
      B & Sophie :)

        Hello!

My NewT seemed a bit therapisty in some ways but I had to have Management step back and let the Littles have access. You may find that what some parts are cynical of, others might actually need.

Caution is good – it keeps us protected but carefully, very carefully, access must be given to others I suspect.

Says me, who is struggling with it but…

I hope it is still going well. I hope to see more bloggage about how well its going etc

        :)

          Hi BTC

You’re probably right. M did step back when there were different things happening with Bob, so she may do it in a positive way this time. Here’s hoping :)

          Take care and good luck…
          Sophie :)

This sounds like such a positive step. I hope it works out, and that she is someone you can trust. I’ve been sending many prayers in your direction … you’re so dedicated to trying to move forward; you deserve a caring, educated guide.
